How to use Handy Candy
Shopping at Handy Candy is really easy. As you look through our store you can click to add items to your basket. When you've finished shopping you simply proceed to the checkout where we will take all the details we need from you to process your order. Once you have successfully placed your order you will receive an order confirmation email from us – this is sent immediately. When your order leaves us you will receive a dispatch confirmation email.

Orders placed before 1pm Mon-Fri (working days only) are dispatched the same day.

If you experience any difficulties using the site, whether you're buying or just looking, please do let us know and we'll look into it.

Prices, Postage Costs & Packing
The costs shown for our products include VAT at 15%.

Delivery charges are at cost price or cheaper, ensuring you get maximum value for money. For full details of our delivery rates see Delivery Info .

Our hamper descriptions show an approximate weight for the total package. This is a guide only to help our customers keep track of the delivery charge. This is not the exact weight of sweets you will receive. Exact quantities and weights for individual sweets are shown in each product description so you know exactly what you will get.

If you're ordering 350g of sweets or less then your sweets may be packaged in a padded envelope. If you're ordering more than 350g of sweets then the goods will packaged in a postal box. As part of our ongoing commitment to reducing waste we aim to pack our orders as efficiently as possible without compromising the presentation.

Delivery Terms & Conditions

We cannot be held responsible for any failed or delayed delivery as a result of incorrect, incomplete or unclear address information. Therefore we would urge you to check this thoroughly as you checkout and also on the order confirmation email. Once your order leaves us we're unable to change address information or redirect orders without incurring charges which you will need to cover.

Standard UK Mainland Delivery

  • If your order weighs under 4.75 kg it's sent by Royal Mail
  • If your order weighs over 4.75 kg it's sent by Business Post courier

We dispatch orders Monday-Friday (working days only). Your sweets will be delivered within 4 working days from the date you ordered.

Royal Mail orders will be sent either by regular Royal Mail post or by Royal Mail's Track & Trace Service. Orders sent by Royal Mail are usually delivered with your normal daily post. If you have requested that your package be left in a safe place, the postperson will try to follow your instructions, but if they believe it may damaged or that the location is not safe enough they won't leave it. If they can't deliver your parcel they will leave a card and return it to the local sorting office for collection or for you to arrange redelivery – full details of these options are on the card that's left. If your order is sent by Track & Trace you will receive instructions with your dispatch confirmation email on how to track the status of your delivery via the Royal Mail web site.

Business Post courier orders are delivered Monday-Friday between 9.00am-5.00pm. It's not possible to specify a time for delivery. Unless you instruct us otherwise, orders are automatically authorised to be left with a neighbour or safe at the premises if the recipient is out and unable to sign for the package (they will always try to deliver it directly first though). In this event, Business Post will leave a card advising you where they have left your package. If you DO NOT want Business Post to leave it with any neighbours or there is a safe place where you're happy for it to be left please tell us in the delivery instructions box when you check out so we can inform them.

Express/Named Day Courier Delivery
Our next day/named day delivery service via Business Post is to UK mainland addresses only, as classified by Business (see our Delivery Info page for postcode exempt from UK Mainland). This service is only available for orders placed before 1pm - they will be dispatched the same day to be delivered the following day (working days only) or dispatched to arrive on your selected day. We cannot provide a delivery time.

If you opt for either the next day or named day delivery service and Business Post fail to deliver on the date requested, then we will automatically refund you, the customer, £3. This is the difference between our regular delivery charge of £3.99 and the next day/named day charge.

Free UK Mainland Delivery Offer
We offer free UK mainland delivery (‘mainland' as classified by Business Post) on orders over £45 up to a maximum weight of 20kg. See our Delivery Info page for postcode exempt by Business Post from UK Mainland classification.

British Forces Overseas (BFPO)
Due to postage restrictions we are unable to send goods that weigh more than 2kg (1.9kg sweets + package weight) to BFPO addresses. As we're a commercial enterprise we're liable to pay postage to BFPO addresses.

International Delivery
With the exception of the countries covered by our European courier service if you are buying or sending Handy Candy goods outside of the UK we use Royal Mail Air Mail. This is not a trackable service and delivery times vary enormously depending on the destination country. In our experience it can take up to 21 days for some countries.

Transportation & Storage of Sweets
Handy Candy only sends out the best quality products to our customers that are well within their best before date. However we cannot accept responsibility for deterioration caused by climatic conditions or transportation once the goods have left our premises.

Upon receipt, to ensure your sweets remain in the good condition, store them in a cool, dry place. We also recommend that they're consumed within four weeks to be enjoyed at their best.

Out of Stock
If your product is temporarily out of stock we will let you know how long it will be before it's available with the option to choose an alternative or cancel your order. If you want to wait for your chosen sweet then we will hold your order until it can be sent in its entirety. Occasionally if an item is out of stock in one of our hampers, tuck boxes, tubes, jars or baskets, contents may differ slightly from the photograph, however we will always replace the item with something of the same or greater value and within the theme of your choice.

Ingredients
We stock a huge range of sweets from many different manufacturers. This means we cannot guarantee that our products are free of nuts or nut traces.

Satisfaction Guarantee
We're confident that you'll be enormously happy with your purchase so if for any reason it doesn't meet your expectations please let us know.

You can return the goods to us, within fourteen days of receipt, stating clearly your order number and details of your complaint and we will refund you for the value of the sweets or replace your sweets with no quibbles or questions. Send to:

For your own peace of mind we recommend you use recorded delivery when returning goods to us. You need to cover the cost of the return postage charge unless otherwise agreed with us.

We will respond to all complaints and returns within five working days.

Credit & Debit Card Security
We take the greatest effort to ensure the highest possible standards of online security.
We use Protx Secure Ordering Systems to process credit card payments from customers. We do not store any credit card information on our systems or at our premises. Protx are one of the UKs leading Secure Payment Service providers and have been accredited by the UK's leading high street banks. Established in 1995, Protx remain leaders in the provision of safe, secure online transactions. Protx use Thawte 2048 bit encryption systems. At the browser 128 Bit SSL is used to allow for the encryption of potentially sensitive information such as your name, address and other critically sensitive information like your credit card details. Information passed between your computer and our website cannot be read in the event it is intercepted by someone else.

All card payments are made to 'Wirrmann.com'. This is the name you will see on your credit card or bank statement.
